Studies at Metropolis in the field of HIV
All studies pay for medications, lab costs and provide a stipend to participate between $75 and $1500 depending on the study
Patients on Meds, undetectable VL ("Switch studies")
ASSURE - A Simplification Study of Reyataz with Epzicom
A study enrolling patients with an undetectable Viral Load who are receiving Reyataz + Norvir + Truvada as their first or second regimen for at least 6 months. Randomization will either continue the same treatment or simplified to a Norvir sparing regimen, with Reyataz and Epzicom.
GS-US-264-0106
Another study looking for patients with undetectable Viral Load on a boosted protease inhibitor and two NRTI's. A randomization to either a single tablet regimen Rilpivirine/Tenofovir/Emtricitabine or maintaining the ongoing regimen will occur. A previous genotype is required to qualify for the study.
GS-US-264-0111
A switch study from the one-tablet regimen Atripla to an investigational one-tablet regimen of Rilpivirine/Tenofovir/Emtricitabine. Patients only qualify if they are without a detectable Viral Load..
For patients never been treated for HIV ("Initiation studies")
SINGLE
Patients with a detectable Viral Load will receive either a combination of Epzicom and an investigational integrase inhibitor GSK1346572 or Atripla. The duration of this study is two years.
GS-US-264-0110
A one-pill regimen against one-pill regimen comparison in never treated patients with HIV. Patients will either receive Atripla or a single tablet regimen containing Rilpivirine/Tenofovir/Emtricitabine. The duration of this study is two years.
GS-US-120-0104:
A 30 day study for a newly developed compound GS-7340 used as only drug. This study requires 10 visits in 30 days.
Pfizer: A4001095
Study comparing the combination of Prezista, Norvir and Maraviroc once daily with a regimen containing Prezista, Norvir and Truvada®. Patients will be randomized to one of the two arms.
Patients with detectable Viral Load while on medication
(so called "Failure studies")INROADS
Patients with a Viral Load above 400 copies will receive a regimen containing Prezista, Norvir and Intelence all once daily. Everybody in this study will receive the same medications
ING112574
Patients previously failing on Isentress will receive a new regimen containing an experimental Integrase Inhibitor GSK1349572. This is a trial for highly antiretroviral treatment (ART)-experienced HIV patients.

Lipid Study
NK-104-4.05US
A study looking into the use of a new Hypercholesterol drug Pitavastin in patient with HIV and elevated Cholesterol, comparing it with Pravastatin.
